Tenure of engagement: Initially for a period of 1 (one) year. Engagement may be renewed for further period on the assessment of performance by a duly constituted Committee and on requirement basis only.

State Domicile:

(i) Evidence of having passed the qualifying examination from the State/UT as given in the advertisement and published in the CEE-2026 Website.

(iii) A domicile certificate/nativity certificate/residence certificate from the competent authority of the concerned State/UT.  
 
Educational Qualification:
 
(a) Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s degree in Science/ Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology (with Science or Mathematics) or in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Social Science/Humanities are eligible for admission to the programme (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). The candidates should upload only the marks secured in degree examination as qualifying marks.

4. Select the subjects for which you want to apply for re-checking/ photocopy with re-checking.

5. Upload the scanned copy of your Original Admit Card in .jpeg/.png format and file size upto 500KB.

6. Provide your contact details in the space provided.

7. Check carefully all the information provided by you. (SEBA is not responsible for any unprocessed applications due to wrong information provided by the candidates).

8. Proceed to make payment by clicking “CONFIRM AND PAY ONLINE” button.

9. Enter necessary details on the online payment page. Click on blue coloured “Pay Now” button on bottom right to confirm the payment.

10. After making successful payment, you will get your ARN (Application Receipt Number) in your mobile number. You can also download your invoice of the payment. (Keep it safe for future reference).

Eligibility Criteria for CBSE CTET Exam 2026


Required Qualifications of CTET 2026

Candidates who are willing to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), September 2026 must fulfill certain educational qualifications. The educational qualification required for CTET is different for primary and secondary level. The level wise educational qualification details are given below.

Paper-I :: Primary Level (Class I to V):

In order to appear in the primary level CTET exam, candidates must possess any one of the below-mentioned qualifications:

  1. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  2. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
  3. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
  4. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
  5. “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
Paper-II :: Elementary Level (Class VI to VIII):

In order to appear in the elementary level CTET exam, candidates need to fulfill any one of the below-mentioned qualifications.

  1. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  3. Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
  4. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
  5. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
  6. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
  7. Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.

Candidates must pay a certain amount as an application fee to appear CTET Exam. The fee can be paid through online payment method (using their credit card, debit card, UPI or net banking). The application fee applicable for CTET September 2026 is as under:
