A walk-in-interview will be held for the 2 nos of temporary posts of each Research Assistant and Lab Technician in ICMR Taskforce project on "A Systematic assessment of acute viral hepatitis and chronic liver disease in Northeast India with special reference to strengthening of laboratories in the region" in the Conference Hall of Microbiology Department, Gauhati Medical College on 5th September 2018 at 11 AM.



1. Name of the Post: Research Assistant
Total Vacancy: 02

Pay Matrix: Rs.31,000/- per month as per ICMR rules (corresponding to PB-2, Rs.9,300-34,800/- + Grade Pay Rs.4200/-)

Age Limit: Up to 30 years (as on 30.09.2018)



2. Name of the post: Lab Technician
Total Vacancy: 02

Pay Matrix: Rs.18,000/- per month as per ICMR rules (corresponding to PB-1, Rs.5200-20200/- + Grade Pay Rs.2800/-)

Age Limit: Up to 30 years (as on 30.09.2018)



Qualifications for Research Assistant:

Essential: Graduate in Biotechnology/ Microbiology from a recognized university with 3 years work experience from a recognized institution or Masters Degree in Biotechnology/ Microbiology.

Desirable:

  1. Experience in Biomedical subject particularly in health research related areas. Working experience in scholarly publications.
  2. Knowledge of computer applications/ data management/ data analysis/ report writing, data mining, writing popular articles/ working on databases.



Qualifications for Laboratory Technician:

Essential: 12th pass in Science subject with 2 years diploma in DMLT. OR 12th pass in Science subject with 1-year diploma in DMLT + 1-year experience in a recognized Institute/ Organization. OR 12th Pass in Science subject with 2 years Medical Laboratory experience.

Desirable:

  1. B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology OR B.Sc. with 1 year DMLT.
  2. Knowledge of computer applications.
  3.  Previous experience of working in Health Research project in Medical College or any other institution.

Note: B.Sc. degree in relevant subjects shall be treated equivalently to three years experience respectively.
