Selection Procedure of Judicial Assistant Post
The Selection Process for the Posts of Judicial Assistant of Gauhati High Court is divided into two (02) stages i.e. Stage-I and Stage-II which is explained below:
Stage-I: OMR Based Written Examination - (Objective type multiple choices questions) for 120 marks of 2 hours duration.
Stage-II: Viva-voce/ Interview - Candidates in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates for 1 post) in order of merit on the basis of the marks obtained in the written examination shall be called to appear in the Interview/ Viva-voce of 15 marks.
On the basis of the total marks obtained in the written examination and viva-voce, the final select list will be prepared. The High Court reserves the right to fix cut off mark, if any, for the written test.
NOTE: Where more than one candidate, obtain the same grand total marks, the candidate who obtains more marks in the written examination will get preference. Where the marks obtained by such candidates in the written examination are also same, then the candidate who is senior in age will get preference.
Syllabus for Written Examination of Judicial Assistant Post
(a) General English (50 marks), General Knowledge including Computer Knowledge (30 marks) and General Aptitude (20 marks).
(b) Official Language of the State of Assam i.e. Assamese (20 marks).
NOTE: The marks of Official Language will be of qualifying in nature and qualifying marks will be 40% i.e. 8 marks. Marks obtained in the Assamese language part will not be counted in preparing the merit list of written test.
